Laser cutting machine is now mainly divided into CO2 laser, YAG solid state laser and fiber laser cutting machine. These three kinds of laser cutting machines have their own characteristics in production. Now, we compare the characteristics of three common laser cutting machines from several aspects.
1.Operation requirements and maintenance
The CO2 laser needs to adjust the optical path before use. The condition of the optical path will directly affect the cutting effect of the workpiece, so it is necessary to adjust the optical path manually and maintain it regularly. The thermal lens effect of YAG solid-state laser is obvious, which needs to be maintained frequently. High stable fiber laser need no adjustment or maintenance and easy to operate.
2.Cutting speed and effect
The cutting speed of the fiber laser is 2 – 3 times of the same power CO2 laser , and the advantages are especially prominent during the cutting process of the metal plate . In the other two kinds of laser cutting machines , the cutting speed and quality of fiber laser is good , whose gap is small and edge is neat.
- Material suitability and application industry
The CO2 laser is more versatile , not only to cut metals but also to cut non – metals such as ceramics , quartz , cloth and rubber . The fiber laser is more suitable for cutting metal materials, including high reflective materials such as aluminum and copper.
